True Beauty

We think we know True Beauty?
True beauty is
Praying in congress
Side by side, foot by foot and
Shoulder to shoulder.
True beauty is
Giving salaam to that
Stranger you see on the street
Or that beggar down there below.
True beauty lies in
Sparing a coin
From that bundle you've got
To give the poor.
True beauty comes only if
We visit the sick and show them we care.
If we attend funerals and funeral prayer
Despite not knowing the deceased.
True beauty will be ours
Once we strengthen our kinship
And be good to our neighbours.
If and only if we
Refrain from procrastination,
Change that
"I'll do it tomorrow" to
"I'm currently working on it".
True beauty is
Smiling to those strangers out there
Good or bad,
Old or young,
Man or woman.
True beauty will be ours
Once we stop the lies and insults,
Once we stop speaking ill of each other.
True beauty,
True beauty can be attained.
We just have to work on it.

I won't be wrong when I say that parents and children now have become enstranged. It's like none knows the other anymore. Strangers under one roof. Aliens to each other. It's sadening really.
